Last month, the Genesis Biosciences team attended CHEMUK 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham.

As the UK’s largest chemical industry supply chain event, it was a great opportunity to reconnect with industry peers, showcase our latest work, and highlight the growing relevance of microbial and enzyme-based technologies across key sectors.

A successful return to the exhibition floor

We were proud to exhibit once again at CHEMUK, sharing our space in Hall 5, Stand G152, with an audience eager to explore sustainable innovation. Our display featured three of our key product ranges:

  • Evogen Wastewater Treatment – microbial products designed to support industrial and municipal biological treatment systems, enhancing odour control, FOG degradation, and sludge reduction
  • Evozyme – bespoke enzyme blends tailored for effective cleaning and waste breakdown in a wide range of commercial and industrial settings
  • Evogen bio-based microbial products – a safer, science-led alternative to traditional chemical cleaners, offering bio-based solutions for hard surface cleaning, odour control and more

These ranges all reflect our ongoing mission to deliver greener, performance-driven alternatives across the cleaning and wastewater sectors.

Peter Wallbank delivering his presentation

A spotlight on probiotic innovation

As part of the show’s speaker programme, Peter Wallbank delivered a presentation titled “Probiotics – Past, Present and Future”. His talk explored the evolution of probiotics from early applications to today’s cutting-edge innovations, offering insights into regulatory frameworks, emerging trends in biotechnology, and the growing relevance of microbial-based solutions.

The session highlighted our leadership in sustainable, science-backed probiotic technologies, particularly within the industrial and institutional (I&I) cleaning sector. It clearly resonated with attendees, generating strong interest in bio-based alternatives to traditional chemical products.

Reflecting on the CHEMUK event, team member Lawrence Keen said:

“Last month we were proud to exhibit at the CHEMUK Expo in Birmingham, showcasing our latest innovations from the Evogen range, alongside Evozyme and Evogen WWT. The event proved a great success, generating strong interest in probiotic-based solutions and highlighting the industry’s growing demand for sustainable products in both Homecare and I&I sectors.

“There was a real buzz following our talk on microbial cleaning products, which sparked plenty of valuable conversations. We’ve come away with a long list of leads and exciting opportunities to explore.”

Looking ahead

We’re grateful to everyone who visited our stand, attended our talks, or shared ideas with us during the event. As always, CHEMUK has proven to be a valuable touchpoint for connecting with others in the chemical industry supply chain and advancing conversations around sustainable innovation.

We look forward to continuing those conversations and sharing more about the work we’re doing to develop safe, effective bioscience solutions for a greener future.
