As we end another year, our CEO Conrad Mielcuszny and General Manager – Europe, Dr. Emma Saunders, share messages for our staff and customers.
As we approach the close of 2024, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an exceptionally dynamic and rewarding year for Genesis Biosciences. Together, we’ve achieved significant milestones that have not only advanced our mission but also positioned us for an even more exciting future.
This year, our teams have shown remarkable dedication and innovation. From the launch of the next generation of our Evogen concentrates to the unveiling of our redesigned website, it has truly been a year of transformation. We are proud to be recognised as the Green Business of the Year at the Welsh Business Awards, an honour that celebrates our ongoing commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
We have continued to invest and optimise of our large-scale fermentation facility in Georgia, USA. This year, we expanded our fermentation leadership team and streamlined our processes and equipment, while applying state-of-the-art microbiological and genomic techniques to further enhance our knowledge of our Bacillus strains. These advancements are central to our ability to deliver safe, consistent, high-performance products that meet the needs of our customers and contribute to our sustainability goals. Our ongoing investment in fermentation research ensures we remain at the forefront of microbial innovation.
In addition to our operational successes, collaboration has been at the heart of many of our most exciting endeavours. Our work with the University of Huddersfield on research to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and our involvement in the COMBAT AMR consortium demonstrate our commitment to making a positive impact in healthcare environments worldwide. We are proud of the progress we’ve made in research, particularly in working with external partners to develop disruptive probiotic cleaning solutions that present a sustainable and effective alternative to traditional chemical disinfectants.
Our teams have also been hard at work attending key industry events, such as the European SEPAWA and Interclean trade shows, where we showcased our latest sustainable innovations, including our novel bio-based microbial concentrates and natural antimicrobial technologies. These engagements allow us to share our vision for a greener future with a broader audience, reinforcing our position as leaders in sustainable, eco-benign® solutions.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all our staff, customers, and partners who have been part of this incredible journey. Your passion, hard work, and collaboration have fuelled our success. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together.

It has been a year of growth, innovation, and immense achievement for us all.
In 2024, the UK laboratory has grown significantly, and I am thrilled to see how our expanding team has played a vital role in our achievements. The dedication of our highly skilled scientists and technicians has been crucial in driving our mission forward and expanding our capabilities. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of innovation, particularly in our research and development of sustainable solutions.
A notable highlight this year has been our ongoing collaboration with the technical team at our fermentation facility in Georgia, USA. By combining our advanced microbiological research and experience, we make daily strides in improving the yield and quality of our Bacillus strains, which are integral to our technology. This joint effort ensures that we continue to deliver high-performance, environmentally responsible solutions that meet customer demands while supporting our sustainability goals.
Our commitment to developing safer, greener alternatives has never been stronger. The successful launch of our bio-based Evogen concentrates is proof of that. These achievements, alongside our partnerships in groundbreaking research, reflect our passion for making a lasting, positive impact on the environment.
Additionally, this year has been one of celebration. Winning the Green Business of the Year award at the Welsh Business Awards was a proud moment, recognising the collective dedication of the Genesis Biosciences team in advancing sustainability. We also launched our updated UK website and resources hub, making it easier than ever for our customers to access information about our products and innovations that are driving a cleaner, more sustainable future.
We’ve had the privilege of attending industry-leading events throughout the UK and Europe, where we showcased our products and engaged with key industry figures. These experiences not only strengthened our vision but also reinforced the increasing demand for eco-friendly, microbial solutions within the industry.
Looking ahead to 2025, I am filled with anticipation for the new opportunities and challenges that await. Our UK laboratory will continue to invest in research and development, driving forward innovative solutions that have a meaningful impact on the world.
